In time for the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, Paul Smith plays host to a limited edition collection of Vanhulsteijn bikes. The presentation’s centerpiece is the “Urushi” bicycle, which sees the brand’s high-quality craftsmanship combined with traditional Japanese techniques. A urushi lacquer—derived from the hardened sap of the Japanese lacquer tree—is combined with gold leaf and applied to nine limited edition bicycles for a one of a kind finish.

Prices are available upon request, and the bikes will be on display until April 27that Paul Smith Via Manzoni 30 in Milan.

Marc Jacobs’s Special Items are usually affordable enough for those of us who want a little piece of MJ, but this limited edition bamboo bicycle sort of blows that out of the water. These bamboo frame bikes with steel lugs and silver spokes go for $5,000 and are only sold in select Marc Jacobs boutiques.
