Last July, the saddle specialists at Brooks England teased us with a preview of their collaboration with Levi’s Commuter. The fruits of their labor finally released last week in the form of a saddle made with recycled denim, a limited-edition version ofBrooks’ classic Cambium C17.

Part of a social project that reaches out to urban commuters, the numbered piece is manufactured from donated denim collected from Levi’s Commuter Workspaces in Brooklyn, Los Angeles and London. It’s constructed by the same vulcanization techniques used to produce the comfortable, durable and waterproof Cambium C17 original.

The Limited Edition Cambium C17 Denim Saddle is currently available exclusively at the B1866 flagship store in London as well as online for $274. “Denim never dies,” indeed.

This is a big favorite at Selectism: Back in August during Capsule Show in Las Vegas, we stumbled upon the Brooks England and Carrera collaborative helmet. While various colors of the folding helmet were displayed, we pulled to the white colorway and quickly added it to our all-white Capsule Selects display box. It was a hit to say the least.

The J.B. foldable cycling helmet is part of Brooks England’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection inspired by the classic leather “hairnet” helmets past and aptly named after the company’s founder, John Boultbee Brooks. Variations of the new modern take on the folding helmet include heritage tweed, herringbone and tartans that wrap around portions of the shell, while leather details line the neck and carrying strap. The closure system on the helmet was developed by Carrera.

Both versions of the helmets — the J.B. Classic and J.B. Special — will be available beginning at the end of September, though a few colors of the “Special” are available now.

Brooks England previews an interesting accessory which looks similar to a small hand bag but is much more than that. The Victoria bag is designed to be both carried in hand as well as attach to your bicycle saddle when in transit. The Victoria slips over your saddle (as a cover) allowing the pouch end to hang off the rear of the saddle – like a normal saddle bag. An interesting concept acquired from an entry to one French horse saddle maker’s design competition. VIA

First produced in 1979, the Brooks « Colt » saddle became famous among Brooks fans for its strength and durability. The Colt was discontinued amidst mysterious circumstances a few years ago… The Colt is back with its 80′s retro look in a colorful range. The Brooks « Colt » saddles are available in turquoise, black, pink, purple and mustard leather at a price of 140 €.

Bread and Butter came and went but it would seem we forgot to post up a few looks here and there. This Brooks Oxford Roll Up Rain Cape was one of them. The new design for Spring 2011 (could drop earlier) is a quick and easy solution for the bicycle commuters amongst us. Store it away on the top tube itself or drop it into your day bag.
