UCY Duomatic Porteur

One of the events at this year’s screening of the Bicycle Film Festival in Florence was Ciclosili, profiling the Italian flair for discerning aesthetics. It was presented in Stazione Leopolda, the city’s first railway station, but it was also the first viewing of this porteur by Italy’s UCY.

UCY manufacture urban single speed and fixed gear frames with an emphasis on the Italian tradition. The frames are built from Columbus steel, fillet brazed by craftsmen with over 50 years of experience. Some individual details have been incorporated into the fork legs and rear brake bridge.

It’s equipped with a Sturmey-Archer Duomatic rear hub, which allows two gears without disturbing the clean lines with a derailleur. The UCY ’11F1′, dressed in a gun-blued finish, was created specifically for the Firenze BFF, where it was suitably well-received by admiring moviegoers.
